Bookworm Tip #1: Gift a Bookmark Too!

10 Dec

This is a short tip for this Christmas season: If you’re gifting a book to someone, make sure you add a unique bookmark too! Trust me, we bookworms secretly look forward to it (almost more than the book itself!).

It can also serve as an additional face-saver if in case your receipient has already read the book – at least they’ll have a bookmark they’ll cherish!

So go ahead and put some thought into the bookmark too! Hunt for something special or if you’re the creative types perhaps you can make one! It’s just a little thought that might go a long way in saying that you really care! 🙂

May the spirit of giving be upon you this season!

That’s a really good idea. I never have a book mark to hand and always seem to end up using my bus ticket, which can end in disaster… You could even theme it so that bookmark reflects the genre of the book. I saw a great magnifying glass book mark, which worked as a magnifier, book mark and crime fiction gift all in one.

Oh yes, that’s a terrific idea! I guess I’m not the only one who would like bookstores to have a greater collection of bookmarks… frankly, most times it’s either take it or leave it. I absolutely love it when the cashier puts a couple of normal printed bookmarks into the bag along with the books I just purchased. 🙂
I believe gifting your special someone a bookmark is the simple most long-lasting thing you can do – every time they read a book, any book, they’ll think of you! 🙂

I so get the thrill you’re talking about, the one you get when the cashier puts a few random bookmarks in the bag along with the books! There is also actually a bookmark exhibition that happens annually, and I attended one of those once…they had a workshop on how to make some really personalized bookmarks!! 🙂

Wait, did I just get some idea for christmas presents?? 😉

You know when me and ur mom went for an exhibition together for the first time, long long time ago, guess the first thing she picked up—- a set of hand made bookmarks !! We still have a few after gifting away most of them. Good thought, everlasting memories.
